Freebies? It's still just a Release Candidate and they had good experience with the feedback for beta version - there's still few things to bugfix.
as you can see from here (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-7-Build-7100-Release-Candidate-RC-First-Look-110137.shtml) they will make it public available.
but it's overtaken anyway.. it leaked.. :D :D

What I meant as in like Windows FeedBack Panel that I belong too they gave me a free copy of Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit :D
Anyone noticed that the first beta 7000 or something was faster than later betas?
It was really fast, but few days ago i tried 7068 and it was slow like Vista.
MOVING one 1 MB file from one folder on drive C to second folder on drive C taked 3-5 minutes. Win7 calculated how much time he needs for copying. Idiot OS.
XP moves such files instantly.
I think, Microsoft does need to change its CORE for their OS Technology from the ground up approach, not just wrapping it over and over and over again just like customized bookcover.
Changed its wrappings, but the package still remains the same--BUGS.

i updated every time a new build leaked and recognized the same.. but it got better with 7077 again and now with 7100 it's that fast like with builds up to 7022.
maybe this have something to do with the kernel update in 7070

Researchers demonstrate "unfixable" Windows 7 exploit
Researchers at a recent hackers' conference in Dubai have demonstrated what they claim is an unfixable exploit for Microsoft’s upcoming operating system. Apparently, they've found a way to gain control of a Windows 7 machine during the boot up process though the use of a tiny 3KB program dubbed VBootkit 2.0.

Nothing unique to Windows really. If the bad guy is sitting at your machine, he can pretty much do whatever he wants with it, regardless of the OS, be it Winders, Mac, *Nix, whatever. (IE, you don't need antispyware, you need a gun.)

as i already said with my first post in this thread the release date of windows 7 will be much earlier then MS says.
Bobby Watkins (Managing director - Acer) blabs Windows 7 ship date:

I notice when I installed the RC onto my pc all it would show is a black screen and on the right buttom side just the build number... No taskbar would show up... All I could do is hold alt ctrl and del and log off or shutdown or restart... nothing seem to work even when I reboot my pc and relogin it does the same thing... :(

In general, if your PC can run Windows Vista, it can run Windows 7. But if you're not running Windows Vista, or are just not sure if your system is ready to run Windows 7, there's a quick way to do a simple check.
Just download, install, and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Beta. You'll get a report telling you if your PC can run Windows 7, and if there are any known compatibility issues. If the issues can be resolved, you'll get suggestions for next steps. For example, it'll let you know if you need an updated software driver. You'll also get advice on how to upgrade to Windows 7.
Note: Information about your computer will be sent back to Microsoft; however, no information will be used to identify or contact you. For more information, read our privacy statement.
Before you begin
Before you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor beta, be sure to plug in any USB devices or other devices such as printers, external hard drives, or scanners that are regularly used with the PC you're evaluating.

Did you install the guest additions? It includes the emulated drivers and some utilities. Win7 is working just fine here on VB version 2.2.4.

This news appeared this afternoon via a trusted russian source:
Microsoft Windows 7 (Client/Server) final RTM-Build will leak after June 19th, 2009...
When those sources made such a statments to leaking versions in the past, they always became true. so i assume "after" means June 20th. :)
And for all those, who still believe you can't activate newest builds with the beta keys: yes, you can!
