Open source alternative to Photoshop

Here's a program called GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) that is a great alternative to Photoshop. This is not some stripped down, consumer, remove the red-eye program. This is an amazing, full featured image editing and processing package that truely rivals Photoshop, and it's free. Check it out at

Another one is Paint.NET, which different to GIMP only runs on .NET 3.5 enabled OSes, but has a way better user interface (dont want to disrespect GIMP, but the UI sucks hard):
